Steinberg Sand Volley Ball Rules 2008

General Rules

1. All teams will play 3 games to 21--Rally Scoring
2. All lifts will be called at referee's discretion.
3. No touching the net
4. No going under the net
5. Let serves are allowed
6. Players may not set or attack the serve
7. Ball can be played with any part of the body
8. Ball must pass between antennas when crossing the net
9. Player may not go into opposing court to play a ball
10. Player may not go off of sand to play a ball
11. One (1 minute) time out per game
12. 1 minute break between games
13. Rock, paper, scissors determines first serve of match. Losers serves for following games
14. Coed teams consist of 3 males and 3 females players
15. Numbers of males on the court cannot out number female players (if a team only has 2 women, only 2 men can play)

Court Rules

1. Rained out games must be made-up during the rain out week or remaining matches will be surrendered.
2. No food or drink allowed on the sand
3. Absolutely NO outside food, beverages, or coolers allowed on premises--including parking lot. Any team bringing in food or beverage will forfeit
4. NO CHILDREN allowed in the court area
5. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated
6. All players must sign a waiver prior to playing--youth league participants must have waiver signed by parent/guardian. 
7. All players must be 18--except for youth league participants.  

Forfeit Rules:

1. Teams must contact Steinberg 24 hours before a game if not going to show up or team will be charged a $25.00 referee fee.
2. Games must start within 10 minutes of game time, otherwise team forfeits the first game. If after 15 minutes a team is still not able to start they must forfeit the match and pay a $25.00 ref fee.
